Guilt
I have been having a tough time the last few days. It's funny how the guilt creeps up, seemingly out of nowhere. It feels like I'm having a mid-Robsession crisis. I worry about what he would think of my blog. I fret that I'm objectifying him. I wonder if I am part of the problem. See, let me tell you something about Robert Pattinson. He doesn't ask me, "where's dinner". He doesn't care if the drycleaning has been picked up. He has never left his dirty underwear in the floor for me to pick up. In fact, Rob has never asked any of us for a damn thing, but we sure expect a lot out of him.
Rules
While I would be totally ashamed if Rob were to see my blog. I promise that it is all meant in good humor. It's true, we all have our rules about what is acceptable. (see my promises to Rob) I also realize that everyones rules are different. To stifle creativity goes against everything I believe in. You see, I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will fight for your right to say it. Now, I'm not good at giving speeches, but I just want to say one thing.
Truce
At the end of the day, I think we all have to ask ourselves some hard questions, or in my case, ask all (3) my guy friends. They all asure me the blog is funny and flattering. So, I'm going to go with that and the happy feeling I get from writing this blog. The way I figure it Rob and I have an agreement. I don't steal one piece of his privacy that he doesn't freely give and he will never ask me how much I spent at Wal-Mart.
Robert is a beautiful man, but that is not the only reason we love him. There are many reasons to love him, which is yet another reason to love him.
Why do I love him?
I love him because he radiates a powerful presence effortlessly, yet doesn't take advantage of it. I love him because when he smiles, I can't help but smile too. I love him because he's funny and sweet, and generous, and loyal. Most of all, I love him because he's one of us, the underdog who made good.
I asked some of you for help with this post and I was impressed with the results that I recieved.
Why you love him?
Pilineasalways--"I love how his friendships still mean so much to him, and how he likes quiet reunions with his friends, not partying like crazy (using his now known fuckhotness), just sharing a good old pint with his mates! That's what I love to do w/ my friends too!"
Megan--"Favorite thing about Rob: I love that Rob is his own person. I love his genuine, funny, down-to-earth personality. I like that he doesn't conform to meet Hollywood's standards. He doesn't spew out "rehearsed" answers to questions in interviews. I like his hobolicious style, and the fact that he has friends that he's known since he was a kid. I hope he continues to march to the beat of his own drum, and never changes."
Melainii --"I love on Rob, how he stays jst so real & "pure" .. The hype got him but I seriously don't think, that this gets to his head .. He tries to stay as natural as he can be & though he's so sexy, loveable, playful, precarious, a little afraid and clumsy .. Of course I love his look [& if I'd start now writing about his look, I probably still be sitting here till next morning] but please .. what good is a pretty look, when the inside is an asshole?"
RPfangirlDC-- "My favorite thing about Rob in the non-physical sense... This is such an easy one... I absolutlely love what a caring and giving person he is. The fact that he does anything to oblige his fans (when he's not totally being mobbed by people) from autographs to pictures. Then he gives of himself for good causes. (ie the AMFAR kisses he donated) He is a caring and loving human being and that is something in the world today that is extremely rare. That is why I cherish him for the person he is."
Ssherrill--"The thing I like the most about Mr. Pattinson is his complete shock at how popular he is. He has a wonderful sense of humor.
