CATE BLANCHETT ON PLASTIC SURGERY
Hollywood star Cate Blanchett is reluctant to have plastic surgery, because her husband has vowed to divorce her if she goes under the knife. Cate admits she's feeling her age after giving birth to son Ignatius last April. But she is insisting she wouldn't trade her union with her hubby, Andrew Upton, to keep her looks. She tells Vanity Fair magazine, "I haven't done anything, but who knows. Andrew said he'd divorce me if I did anything.When you've had children, your body changes; there's history to it. I like the evolution of that history; I'm fortunate to be with somebody who likes the evolution of that history." She tells Britain's Elle magazine, "I'm off antidepressants for the moment because my album producer wants me to feel the rage, wants me to be really angry, wants me to face the demons. And I am so [bleep] angry! "I'm getting back on them as soon as recording the album is finished. I'm not going to punch anybody, but I have to do two hours of exercise and chanting a day to feel good."

The pair was charged with felony vandalism after reportedly smashing a snapper's camera, but the charges were later dropped by the Los Angeles California County District Attorney's office. And the rapper is adamant that in 2009 he will make more of an effort to be pleasant to photographers. He tells TMZ.com, "I love you guys. That's my New Year's resolution. An "American Idol" producer is denying media reports that Paula Abdul is going to leave the hit television show, and is insisting she is an "integral part" of the contest. Abdul has been surrounded in controversy after a crazed fan committed suicide outside her California home last month. She claimed the producers failed to keep Paula Goodspeed away and let her audition on three separate occasions, knowing she had stalked the star for over 17 years. Bosses denied knowing Godspeed was a threat and rumors surfaced that Abdul would be leaving the hit show very soon. But producer Ken Warwick has flatly denied the reports, insisting the judge is "worth her weight in gold." He tells People.com, "America loves Paula. She's an integral part of this program. "There's never been any discussion that we would want to get rid of Paula. Never have I been faced with anyone saying Paula's got to go. She's one of the foundation blocks of this series. She keeps Simon well in control, which is worth its weight in gold." And Warwick is insisting he had no idea Goodspeed had a bad problem with Abdul, and if he had he would not have let her come face-to-face with the judge. Rocker Gene Simmons is launching a scathing attack on other rock stars who turn up late to their own gigs, as tardiness is disrespectful to their fans. The Kiss star is adamant his band always takes to the stage on time, to make sure their supporters are not kept waiting. And Simmons admits he can't stand arrogant musicians who arrive late. He tells Billboard.com, "I don't care if you're Axl Rose, forgot to tie your shoelaces or your father molested you when you were three -- you're a [bleep] if you don't show up onstage when it says 9 o'clock.
