Migrant workers

If you go down to the fields today, you're sure of a big surprise....not!

I heard on the news the other night that people in the agricutural East of England are up in arms because of the numbers of migrant workers that have come to this country to work. Nothing new there you mght have thought, except that the complaints are not being levelled against the workers themselves, but against their employers.

And not because of accusations of slave wages either Oh, no. The complaint is that employment agencies that place these workers are being tipped the wink that employers PREFER to hire migrants because these want to work and are prepared to get properly stuck in for their wages.

The simple fact is that Brits in general don't want to do manual work. Their work ethic is crap because they consider the work beneath them and because they can get just as much off the state for doing bugger all. And if they are forced to take this work, then they spend all their time moaning and skiving.

It's time this country got it's work ethic back. It's time that we did an honest days work for an honest days pay. I am a professional man, but there have been occasions when I did whatever was necessary to bring in a few quid. No honest work was ever beneath me.

My wife was a single parent. She has performed the most menial and disgusting tasks to put food in her child's belly. Her mother was on occasions appalled at some of the jobs she did, but as she said to her "It's honest money".

Government and Unions are as much to blame. Workers rights have swung ridiculously too far towards the workers and successive governments have continually expanded the welfare state to the point where it is so easy to just stick your hand out. Work has almost become something that mugs do.

So if you object to migrants taking work off Brits, then remember - you only have yourselves to blame...

Panic stations!

Mrs D. is slow to anger, so when she decides to rename the cruise director 'Cruella' you know that things are in serious danger of going tits up!

Two days ago in Samos, she came banging on our cabin door and trust her mobile phone into my face with the words "There's a phone call for you". Now I have a sick grandson who is due at Great Ormond Street Hospital next week, so as our daughter is the only person with an emergency contact number, our immediate reaction is "Shit! What's happened?!?!"

Apparently what has happened is that Cruella has decided she doesn't want us cluttering up her nice tidy little boat, so she has decided to have us thrown off. Quite why is a mystery to us, but we assume that she simply doesn't like being questioned. Anyway, the London office is on the phone offering us a flight home from Samos because they understand that "we are not happy". I explain that I do not understand where this is coming from as apart from the three star cruise for a five star price, we do not have a problem.

Unfortunately, Cruella has rather jumped the gun by telling several of our fellow passengers that we are leaving the boat, so now they think we are a pair of superior bastards who think that this trip is good enough for them but not for us. As a result, they seem to be avoiding us - a reasonable attitude should the circumstances actually reflect the facts, but unfortunately they do not.

On the top deck, there are two 8 seater tables, so being extremely thick-skinned we just took the first two places for lunch. Squirming rather satisfyingly, they remove the table settings and we now have an entire table to ourselves. The view over Kos town while we ate lunch was most satisfying being, as it was, uninterrupted by our fellow guests!

My grandson is not quite 4 years old, but he is more mature than most of this lot...

Ethnic minorities and positive discrimination

The politically correct amongst you should leave now, because I am about to talk sense.

All this bullshit about ethnic minorities in Midsomer Murders (give me strength!) got me thinking...
Who is the most discriminated against ethnic minority in this country?

Is it women? No, because we have laws against sex discrimination and are encouraged to positively discriminate in favour of women.

Is it the blacks? No, because we have laws against discrimination on the grounds of race.

Is it the disabled? No, because it is illegal to discriminate against disabled people and we are encouraged to have quotas for employing them.

Is it the Jews or Muslims? No, because it is illegal to discriminate on the grounds of religion.

Is it former offender? No, because the government wants us to help rehabilitate former prisoners.

Is it fat people? No, because if you are fat you will be given larger seats on planes and ambulances will be adapted to take your extra weight

Is it immigrants? No, because there are laws against discrimination on grounds of origin.

It's none of the above - So who is it then?

Well, I'll tell you who it is. It's me!

I am a slim, white, law abiding, able bodied, anglo saxon, CofE, male. I've got no fucking chance, because I have not one single solitary anti-discrimination law protecting me.

So what about me, Mr Cameron? Positive discrimination discriminates negatively against the other person!

Sammy Davis Jr. was once asked the secret of his success. He replied "I'm a one eyed black Jew. How could I fail?"

Too bloody true!
