SIMON COWELL WOULD LIKE LADY GAGA

Lady Gaga

American Idol's Simon Cowell is speaking out about the flying gossip over who will replace him on the hit television show, and is insisting shock jock Howard Stern isn't qualified to take over but Lady Gaga would be a very good choice. Simon recently announced he will quit next year to concentrate on launching his British talent show "The X Factor" in the United States. Rumors over who will take his place have been everywhere since the news of his departure broke, with stars including Sir Elton John, Jamie Foxx and even Madonna was even linked to the job. Sirius Satellite star Howard Stern recently revealed he has been in talks with producers about the role, but Cowell insists the DJ does not have enough experience in the music industry to make a valid contribution to the show. He says, "I know Howard's name has been in there for a while, but I'm fairly certain that there hasn't been an approach at any time for Howard to do this show. I think, over the years, judges have been replaced by personalities. That, in the long term, will create problems because you have to be able to spot a star. My advice would be find somebody who actually knows what they're talking about and has actually experienced success in the music business.... (Stern) doesn't seem to have any of this criteria." He adds, "I think we should have Lady Gaga. She is the most relevant pop artist in the world at the moment, and I've met her and she's very smart. I like her. "

LADY GAGA TURNS DOWN PLAYBOY

Lady GaGa

Singer Lady Gaga has refused an offer to pose naked for Playboy Magazine. The pop star, known for her wild stage outfits, often performs and hits the town in just corsets and stockings. But the Lady Gaga has turned down an invite to strip for Playboy, and is insisting her focus is on her career right now. She says, "I mean, if I was a glamour model, I would be delighted (with Playboy’s offer), but for me it’s all about the music." But the singer hasn’t ruled out baring all for Hugh Hefner’s publication in the future. She also jokes: "Ask me again, though, when I have a new album to plug."
